Vote for Your Favorite Art Ed Blog 01/16/2012
Great news gang! I just found out from Jessica over at The Art of Education that my blog has been selected as one of the finalists to win "Art Ed Blog of the Year!" Very exciting. This is such a great idea, and I've already discovered a lot of great new Art Ed Blogs through the nomination page. Here's the thing though... I need your help to win! Voting is open this whole week from today through Saturday the 21st. Could I ask you to take 30 seconds, follow this link: http://theartofed.com/2012/01/15/finalists-announced-vote-for-art-ed-blog-of-the-year/ and vote for our blog win?! All you have to do is click on the name of our blog in the poll, and click vote! It's that easy. We've got the best fans out there, so I'm confident that if you all take just a second to vote, we’ll be promoted to one of the Top 10 Art Ed Blogs of 2011! Thank you so much! Thanks to my nominator, Suzanne Tiedemann, Brunswick Acres Elementary, NJ. View blog. 1 Comment I'll Always Remember where I was on 11-11-11 11/13/2011
On 11-11-11 I attended the IAEA conference where I presented, celebrated my student's artwork selected for the IAEA student show, networked with art teachers, learned about some inspiring art collaborations, hung out with friends while making new ones, and gave my first speech while accepting the IAEA Art Teacher of the Year award. It was such an amazing weekend and personally exciting experience. I made a photo collage of my highlights below. View it larger here. Only 40 pieces from across the state are selected from students in K-12 in this traveling year long exhibit. One Dryden Artist was chosen for this show this year. Congratulations to Kristelle (currently a 6th graders at South) for her value drawing self-portrait from 5th grade. See all the artwork chosen for this show here. Kristelle has been invited to the IAEA state conference on Nov. 12th in Bloomington-Normal to receive her award along with the other students chosen for this exhibit. What an honor! Congratulations! |
