We just learned that our Heart House Art Service Project video was chosen as a finalist in the NEXT VISTA.org Service via Video Student Contest.

Buy a T-shirt with your child's heart house to help celebrate and raise money for the two iPads the art room still needs.

Our 1st graders, brownies, girl scouts and 5th graders with the help of parent volunteers made heart houses to raise over $1275 to help St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey after their school's art program, located in their basement, was devastated by Super Storm Sandy.

The three  videos chosen as finalists will be watched by judges from around the world in April, and the winner will be announced at the Next Vista Awards Night on April 26th.  Each finalist will receive a certificate, as well as a $100 donation to the cause identified when the video was submitted. 

Yeah! This will make our fundraising total= $1375
 

Art Tech Drive

Dryden is currently having an Art Tech Drive. Artsonia will donate 20% from each of your purchases through our online digital art gallery to help raise the funds to buy the art room an iPad. We are working towards our goal of having 2 students to very 1 ipad in the art room. We are only two iPads away of this goal thanks to your support during our McGraw-Hill STEMie Award contest which is bringing $5000 dollars worth of iPads to our Art Room!

Artsonia Just Keeps Getting Better!

Not only is Artsonia our online digital art gallery, it is also a place where you can put your child's art on tons of wonderful products. Many Dryden parents have bought items from the gift shop featuring their favorite young artist's pieces. Artsonia has raised the percentage that they donate back to our art program for each purchase from 15% to 20%. Thank you Artsonia. This will make a HUGE difference. Dryden's art program could really use another dedicated iPad for student use in the art room. So this will help us raise the funds we need to purchase this! Here are some ideas for how I would like to use it on a daily basis in the art room.

I LOVE making art and putting it on Artsonia products for gifts. We use Artsonia for smocks, LMC mouse pads, T-Shirt awards for the Hall of Fame, tiles for our Art History Wall and so much more. But as I said in the title of this post, Artsonia keeps getting better. They just started allowing users to upload PHOTOS in the gift shop (see example below). This means you can buy items with your favorite snapshot on it and donate 20% of this purchase to Dryden!

We have a large and growing collection of mugs in our home right now full of student and personal art from over the years.

Now that Artsonia has added Art Snappables to their collection I wear my art on my necklace. I switch out the images to match my mood or clothing. Our students love it.

I am not a Monster!

These symmetrical paper collage monsters were photographed with ipods and run through the percolator app by their creators. See these and all the other great pieces my students have made on our online art gallery on Artsonia. Artsonia offers tons of wonderful products that feature your child's art. This is the time of year that we make sure our young artists have all three participation ribbons on artsonia so that they can be automatically entered into the HALL of Fame Raffle. Any child in the Hall of Fame by May 17th will be entered into the Raffle on May 18th!
