Congratulations to Dryden on it's 60th Birthday! Thank you to our Librarians, Mrs. Dufern and Mrs. Powers for all the hard work they put into researching, recording, and documenting our school history and to the committee that helped organize this party. Read the Daily Herald story about this event here.

You can spend hours visiting the online Dryden Museum looking at old images and reading the stories that accompany them HERE.  Our hallways are full of informational signs and QR codes leading back to more information on their website. There are a lot of fascinating things to learn about Dryden, the oldest elementary school in Arlington Heights.

The evening included a presentation of a commemorative illustration of Dryden created by Mrs. Hyland, a former Dryden Parent, to Dryden's retired teachers, Principals (past and present), and Mrs. Scheck, our volunteer for 40 years.
Mr. Deptula, our music teacher, lead students in the school song which he wrote in honor of Dryden's Birthday. See a portion of this below.
Mr. Robinson, our Assistant Principal, played the Dryden School Lip Dub which he was so instrumental in creating at the end of last school year. Watch this amazing video here.

I worked a table in the back of the room helping people vote for Dryden's Entry in the McGraw-Hill STEMie Awards. We are finalists in this national contest in hopes of obtaining enough votes to win the $15,000 first prize. That would be enough money to buy each classroom an iPad, (something we desperately want for our students.)
If you haven't voted yet for our Rotoscope Animation on iPads project.
VOTE NOW
Read about our project in this Daily Herald Article. Voting goes until 11am Sept. 19th.
