IAEA Student Show Winner!

20 pieces were selected to represent Dryden's Art Program for the 2011-2012 school year. I entered these (see gallery) for consideration into the Illinois Art Education Student Show Exhibit. Only 40 pieces from the entire state are chosen for this year long traveling exhibit. Congratulations to all 20 finalists for creating such amazing pieces!

The judges chose one Dryden piece for the traveling exhibit...

She will be honored at the awards ceremony in Lisle, IL in November as her piece joins 39 others to travel the state!

The 2012 International Society for Education through Art (InSEA)/United States Society for Education through art (USSEA) Conference, Education through Art: Teaching for Global Understanding & Engagement will be held in Indianapolis Indiana from June 23rd -26th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Celebrating Dryden's 60th

This week has been one all-school celebration after another.
On Wednesday we filmed our ALL SCHOOL LIP DUB VIDEO (to be unveiled next week) and today we had our Field Day Celebration with a couple of Fun Surprises! This year's field day was extra special in honor of Dryden School's 60th birthday. We had
-a surprise staff flash mob dance to Party Rock Anthem
-a surprise performance by the Prospect Marching Band Drumline
-a sing-a-long of our new Dryden School Song
-a chance for Teachers to Dunk the Principal! (after all the kids already had a chance to dunk their teachers)

Tricia has been recognized for her innovative teaching in 2010 with the PBS Teachers Innovation Award, won Illinois Art Teacher of the Year in 2011, awarded Teacher of Distinction in 2012 by the Golden Apple Foundation, received Western Region Elementary Art Teacher of the Year 2013, selected to become a Jacobs Educator 2014-15, was presented with the NAEA Art Technology Outstanding Community Service Award in 2016, honored with the ISTE Teacher Educator Network Tech in Action award, 2018, and won an Art Education Leadership Award via Artsonia in 2019.
