Burning Digital Portfolios

This is our 6th year of burning digital portfolios in art class with our graduating 5th graders. I have a working portfolio for every student at Dryden on my harddrive that I add to each time we have a finished piece of art, video, or random snapshot. Students are always surprised to see the things that I've saved for them over the years. They each get a CD with their artwork and a shared folder that has anything from field trip pictures to snapshots from the first day of school in kindergarten.
Our portfolio envelop has a feedback form. Students who show their discs to their families, sign the form, & return it by next art class will be entered into a raffle for great prizes.

Here is Kayley as a first grader working on her Monochromatic fish painting.

We use ARTSONIA as our online digital art gallery. This allows students to see their growth and learning over time before our Digital Portfolio Burning Day.

I hope that next year you will consider working with Three Ring. We plan to have private options for students/parents to view their portfolios as they are being constructed as well as sharing options for more public display of specific work. We are currently in beta and have only teacher accounts, but a lot more is coming soon. Check us out! I think you will find our technology simple to use (you can capture work with our mobile app and it is all easily searchable and pre-organized).

is the K-5 art teacher at Dryden Elementary School in Arlington Heights, IL. with a masters in K-12 technology integration. Tricia has been recognized for her innovative teaching in 2010 with the PBS Teachers Innovation Award, won Illinois Art Teacher of the Year in 2011, awarded Teacher of Distinction in 2012 by the Golden Apple Foundation, received Western Region Elementary Art Teacher of the Year 2013, selected to become a Jacobs Educator 2014-15, was presented with the NAEA Art Technology Outstanding Community Service Award in 2016, honored with the ISTE Teacher Educator Network Tech in Action award, 2018, and won an Art Education Leadership Award via Artsonia in 2019.
