My Fugleflick filmmakers created this effect for their upcoming movie. It was intended to look like the artist was painting The Scream, by Edvard Munch, then becoming the subject of the painting with his own body. There were a bunch of steps to making this illusion. Let's see if we can spell them out below.

My Session: iPad Animation iDeas that Teach Concepts Dynamically
I plan on sharing about two dozen animation based lesson ideas that any teacher could use to give their students the tools to demonstrate understanding of curricular content with dynamic media. It's a fun, engaging, and potentially transformative way to teach. Below are interactive images in thinglink of my presentation handouts. Mouse over and click the ideas you want to explore. Compare-a-Twist allows the teacher to set up a compare and/or contrast review game on any topic. Students drag the text or image to the correct side of the screen. Animations give immediate feedback to learners. Teachers can save their games and share them via google docs. Ideas: Sort primary/secondary colors Sort warm/cool colors. Sort images by genre.

Ideas: as students are individually sketching ideas for an upcoming art design, pass the ipad around the room and have each contribute to a class design. Watch it build on the screen through the projector.
Art Puzzles: Sliding Slices
Find an art puzzle that relates to the art subject or artist that your art project is based on. Let each student make one move until it's solved. Keep track of how many moves it takes to solve and see if they can beat other classes' scores.
You can make your own quizzes in Educreations or use a pre-made interactive quiz from the art section of BrainPop App.
Idea: pass the ipad from one group to the next giving them the first chance at getting the correct answer.
Find an ebook that ties in nicely with what you're learning in art class. We made monsters from shapes . When finished I had student's take turns turning the page in There is a Monster at the End of this Book
starring Groover. We used a Finding Nemo interactive puzzle book to accompany our monochromatic fish lesson too.
Don't forget that an ipad is a video camera and still camera too.

I'm working on a major organizing task to put my best creative digital art projects in one smore flyer that is easy to find, share, and add to. Every time I write a post with a new idea I can add it to the flyer until it grows CRAZY big. It's already really big. I stopped at 78 projects after 3 days of sorting, archiving, and organizing. There are still a bunch more ideas to add. The smore flyer has all kinds of technology infused art projects that use iPads and desktops. The links will help you find out which is which really quickly. Not every project is Science, Math, Engineering but everyone is at least Art and Technology.

"Not everything that matters is measurable"
What have you learned in your time at school that isn't reflected in a test? Did you learn to share your art supplies, take a moment to compliment a classmate, let a friend go first, help a lost kindergartner find their classroom?
What talents do you have that were not tested? Are you a gymnast, a dancer, a basketball player, a swimmer, a musician, a filmmaker, a puzzle worker?
What have you learned about your role in the community? Do you volunteer, do you pick up litter, do you protect animals, do you conserve resources?What about you has grown that a test can't measure? Your artistic abilities, your confidence, your self-esteem, your humor, your courage, your kindness?
All of you matters…and some of the best parts of you are unmeasurable. Here are some examples of wonderful successes that were not measured on a test that I witnessed.
The learning that happens in an art room matters. Look at these spontaneous moments captured through vine video showing creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving all of which are valued in society and the workplace. The art room is a learning lab for life skills yet it should not all be measured with data. It needs to be experienced with joy!
If we can't measure it in school do we still value it? What we prioritize for children communicates value to them. If we take away the unmeasurable things in their education we are depriving them of the beauty, color, richness of life like removing all the illustrations from a book. Speaking of illustrations, view this award-winning video created by my student filmmakers and see why arts education is so vital to children.
A group of our 1st graders had the opportunity to share in a Skype conversation with Mr.Codilla's 3rd grade art class in Missouri. We tried to learn our similarities, differences, favorite art projects, and more. It was fun to meet new students from a different state using technology.
We were able to test out our iPEVO internet conference station for audio and iPevo camera so they could view our whole group. We saw their group projected up on our interactive board. I took some pictures and video. See them below.
