Curious about White Spot Inspectors?
They live in artists' pockets and come out to inspect artwork for any white spots they might need to touch up. See my post here. Go directly to the Fugleflick video here. You can download my lesson from this link. Want to see all the first grade white spot inspectors? See the Artsonia Gallery here.
Results: Thanks to all who took the time to vote
P.S. Did you notice that Alexis' art is the Peanut (as in Charlie Brown and friends) version of herself?

Update: Alexis received 1161 votes! Normally that would be enough to win, but the winner had almost 4x's as many (wow!). So it was a really tough competition. Thank you to everyone who showed your Dolphin Spirit and supported Alexis! See results here.
Update: Voted ended. Thanks for taking the time to show your support. Unfortunately we didn't get enough votes for Kuba to win this time.
We just learned that our 5th grader, KUBA14 is in the running for Artsonia's Artist of the Week. He needs your votes to win a gift certificate for art supplies, a plaque featuring his beautiful tessellation, and eternal fame! The art room will also win $100 for art supplies!
Click the image or here to vote. No login needed. Vote once per day per device through Saturday. Our last try at this was in October. We were only 14 votes away. So PLEASE get the word out and show support for our Dryden artist!
Wes' Clay Bear project was randomly chosen by Artsonia to complete in their Artist of the Week contest. We need to rally everyone to vote everyday for WES195 until Saturday. It's super easy...just a click-no logging in and you can vote on every computer, smartphone or tablet each day.

If Wes wins he will receive a plaque featuring his artwork along with a gift certificate for art supplies. The art room will also receive a gift certificate to benefit all the Dryden artists.
I wanted to take a little time to reflect on our winning year that YOU helped to create in so many ways from voting, to donating, to purchasing items on Artsonia. I listed the most notable events that have increased our resources and gave new experiences to our students throughout the year and for years to come. Thank you for all your support!
ABC/25 Grant and Edbacker Campaign for a Lego Wall.
We now have the supplies to do collaborative art projects made from legos. There will be a display area in the hallway where we can enjoy this reusable art and math installation.
Our first challenge was to create rotational symmetry. Learn more here. See the gallery of tiles here.
Internet Safety Video Contest. Students won the second place prize for their super cute and useful video, The Internet was Created for Good. The $1000 went towards an iPad for the art room, a class set of styluses for teachers to check out for their classes, and $200 to spend on apps for our Dryden School iPads. See their video here.
STEMie Award Prize, $5000. In October we were awarded the second place prize for our Rotoscope on iPads Animation Project. This went towards 8 iPads for the art room and the cost of apps. This prize help form the goal of having 2:1 iPad access for students in the art room.
Remember when you voted to help John Michael to win Artist of the week around Thanksgiving time? Well, our little guy won a gift certificate for art supplies at Blick Art as well as the nifty plaque featuring his award winning artwork. AND the art room won a $100 gift certificate for art supplies too! I placed the order over break and it arrived today! The box was loaded with fun goodies that we will all enjoy!
Thank you Dryden School Community for all your "clicks of kindness".
