Not mine, but wish it was. This was shared on Facebook

I saw this image shared on Facebook and went absolutely crazy. It not only made me laugh, it made me think as I tried to figure out what the artist did to animate this vintage image. So this is what I observed:
1. The image must have been "lifted" from the background.
2. The background (where the lady was) was filled in with the same coloring and texture.
3. The image was enlarged so that she overlaps the blue space at the top.
4. She was redrawn or filled in in the new areas revealed by her movement.
5. She totally moves. The gif is 19 images that loop nicely.

Nag-o-Matic, Mrs. Fugleclone other fun Gimmicks

I've been in my room working on putting things in order this week between professional development sessions and technology workshops. As I looked around the room I thought, I really need to share my gimmicky tricks that I use to keep the room fun.
Here is one of our three Nag-O-Matics (it nags the students for me). This one reminds the students to use Light Sketchy Lines while drawing instead of pressing so hard that you can't erase and change mistakes. The voice recorder features the actual voice of Mr. Pencil, the star of Interview with Mr. Pencil and spokespencil for this worthy cause.

Mrs. Fugleclone is another set of eyes guarding the artwork in the hallways making sure everything is shown the respect it deserves. She also monitors behavior and reports back to me. Last year she interviewed the artwork on display and created a mockumentary called, Don't Crush My Dreams to help communicate the artwork's concerns to myself and my students.
Here are my favorite lines from the introductory
Mrs. Fugleclone song/video:
"Don't be disturbed, don't be afraid.
Her thoughts are kind if you behave
Mrs. Fugleclone.....is watching!"

Soundtrack T-Shirt Guy

Above are some other novelties I've collected. The first two are self-explanatory, however the Soundtrack T-shirt guy (an idea from NJ art teacher Ms. Tiedemann) literally Rocks! Last year my students made a theme song for the art room for him to play from his t-shirt speaker. It plays a total of 20 songs. Are goal is to fill his play list with our original art songs. Listen to our theme song here. Actually the theme song was so fun, we decided to turn it into a video and it is now part of our Fugleflick Video Logo.
