Both of our Fugleflicks from this year, Do the Dryden Dos and Undo, were selected to screen at the 2oth Annual Real to Reel International Film Festival in North Carolina on July 27th.
There are only 14 student made movies in this 4-day festival and TWO of them are from our young filmmakers!?! What an amazing honor.

Fugleflicks at Film Festivals

I always look for authentic audiences for my Fugleflick filmmakers to share their student-created art-related movies with beyond our school community. This year I was able to use Filmfreeway to enter movies into national and international children's film festivals. Some of these are too far away to attend, however, knowing that other children will have a chance to see the movies is still an amazing experience and acceptance into these festivals is validation that the quality of the film is on par with the best movies made by children around the world!

NextVista Creative Storm Contest

Great news! Our Fugleflick Filmmakers' movie, Do the Dryden Dos, has been selected as a finalist in the Creative Storm student video contest through NextVista.
There are many finalists however, our video was entered in the student collaboration category. There is only one other finalist in competition with our. View the two movies side by side here.
Use the scoring guide to predict which movie you think will win based on the what the judges are looking for.

is the K-5 art teacher at Dryden Elementary School in Arlington Heights, IL. with a masters in K-12 technology integration. Tricia has been recognized for her innovative teaching in 2010 with the PBS Teachers Innovation Award, won Illinois Art Teacher of the Year in 2011, awarded Teacher of Distinction in 2012 by the Golden Apple Foundation, received Western Region Elementary Art Teacher of the Year 2013, selected to become a Jacobs Educator 2014-15, was presented with the NAEA Art Technology Outstanding Community Service Award in 2016, honored with the ISTE Teacher Educator Network Tech in Action award, 2018, and won an Art Education Leadership Award via Artsonia in 2019.
