Playing with the Inkpad app
I've finally gained enough confidence using inkpad on the iPad to share my findings. This vector based illustration tool is still new and wonderful to me. It forces the user to think in terms of shapes instead of line. It comes with endless forgiveness and revisions that never pixelate when you enlarge. It's perfect for creating a logo that you need blown up to 30 feet or shrunk down to 30 pixels. I don't use it completely as I could, but it's nice to know there is an iPad option similar to illustrator.
Here are some of the images I've created using Inkpad so far:
Some Fuglefun at #SPUN12
While I was at my art education conference in Lisle, IL, I received a tweet from a friend who was attending the Set Connections/SPUN Conference in Park Ridge, IL indicating that our students' video was used as an example in the Keynote presentation from the St. Louis HS Video teacher/presenter, Don Goble. After a few tweets back and forth (see below) I was given a link to this video compilation.
Dryden Fugleflick Filmmakers should be very honored that their video was lifted up as an example of students creating not just consuming. That's what the ARTS are all about and I'm very proud of my Dryden Artists who inspire others with their creations!

Update: I had a chance to chat with Carol Broos via Skype during our Arts Education Podcast called the aRTs Roundtable via Edreach. We chatted about our PLN, conferences, and how staying connected online through twitter has helped us grow and make positive changes for our classrooms. View her blog post about this here.
This year I started doing some graphic design work for educators and app developers in my "spare time". Some examples include: Compare-a-Twist app, PKCLsoft, EdGamer Podcast, iDig Video Podcast.
So, I realized after 6 years of making Fugleflicks with my students, we still haven't had a real logo. So, I downloaded the Comic Life app for text, drew a little movie maker based on my former student, Kristina, in the Brushes App, created transparency in Art Studio app, and combined everything again in Comic Life. I downloaded Logo Maker app and it wasn't doing it for me. I wanted something more customizable. Would definitely recommend the Comic Life app. I have the desktop version too. I was able to back up my work to my dropbox as a comic life file so I'll be able to work on it again on my desktop (sweet!).
My new Fugleflicks Logo (at last).
