Congratulations to our very own Dylan for being the only elementary art student in the state of Illinois on the Illinois Art Education Youth Art Month Poster this year! Her magic carpet painting from this lesson in third grade. Coincidentally, this lesson is also featured in the March 2019 issue of School Arts Magazine here.
The lesson is transdigital, meaning it had a physical and digital aspect. You can scan the QR code on the poster to see Dylan fly on her magic carpet.

I received some very exciting news today in my inbox. It read as follows;

"Your student, Tyler, won for the Elementary School division for the Youth Art Month poster flag contest. You should be very proud of him and yourself! Your student will win $100 worth of art supplies and yourself $300 worth of art supplies from Sargent Art." ~ Youth Art Month Coordinator, IAEA

Dryden Artist chosen for Illinois' Youth Art Month Poster!

Congratulations to Riley who created this percolated still life drawing at the end of her Kindergarten year. Her piece was one of only 6 images (view the six Dryden Finalists here) I was allowed to submit for judging in the 2014 Illinois Art Education Association Youth Art Month Poster Contest. Her percolated still life was one of 14 selected from art images submitted by art teachers from across the state for this prestigious honor.
Riley's still life will be part of poster design that will be sent to every school building and political leader at the capital as part of the observance of youth art month in March.
This is the 4th time a Dryden artist has been chosen for the IAEA YAM Poster design.

Youth Art Month-Four amazing events!

TWO Dryden Artists have their art featured on the Youth Art Month Poster for the state of Illinois. These posters are distributed to every school building and legislator in the state to celebrate Art Education. We are so proud of our two winners! They were recognized at the school board meeting on March 14th.

A group of 5 students worked on a Fugleflick movie over a period of 5 months that uses art as a metaphor for embracing diversity, Different is Good. This movie was debuted to a large audience as the Cultural Arts Fair and introduced by the filmmakers themselves. Congrats to Isabelle, Marion, Ciara, Ryan, and Brianna (not shown). The District's Cultural Arts Fair was held on March 7th. I was not able to attend because I was at the NAEA conference in Texas, but Mrs. Beihoffer (thank you!) volunteered to hang our art banners and photograph the Dryden Artists who stopped by. Congratulations to those with art selected for this exhibit. The beautiful work is worth celebrating! See more photos below.

Four Dryden Artists had artwork chosen for permanent display at the new St. Alexius Children's and Women's Hospital in Hoffman Estates. The organizers wanted local student art and selected Dryden pieces from last year's Artsonia Gallery. The families brought the original pieces in to be scanned and judged by a committee. The ones selected were blown enlarge and professionally displayed in the hallways and/or in the patient's rooms. How wonderful that our wish for the world project inspired by Robert Indiana's LOVE image will be spreading a message of kindness to the future patients of this hospital. Jack's art was a watercolor of fall leaves. See more images from the VIP artist's reception at the hospital on Friday, March 15th below.

Congratulations to 3 Dryden Artists

We have some wonderful news for three of our Dryden Artists this March (Which happens to be Youth Art Month). Jack B., currently in 4th grade, had his art, "KIND" selected for permanent display at the new St. Alexius Women and Children's Hospital in Hoffman Estates. He has been invited to VIP reception along with other student artists who have also had pieces chosen to add cheer to the halls of this institution.

Ben G., currently a 4th grader, had his piece, "ART SMART" chosen for the Illinois Youth Art Month poster that will be distributed to every school and congressional leader in the state to help celebrate art education in our schools during the month of March.

Robert J., currently a 3rd grader, had his piece, "Different is Good" chosen for the Illinois Youth Art Month poster also! How amazing to have both artists chosen in one year from the hundreds that were submitted across the state of Illinois.

Big News about Illinois 2013 YAM Poster

All current Illinois Art Education Association members were invited to submit student artwork to be considered for the 2013 Youth Art Month Poster. This year’s theme is
“Illinois’ Designers and Dreamers for a Brighter Tomorrow.”
I submitted a number of pieces and today learned that 2 of them were selected for the final design! Only a handful of images can be on the poster, and TWO of them are from Dryden Artists! I'm SO proud of Ben G. (currently in 4th) and Robert J. (currently in 3rd). Congratulations and thank you for always trying your best!
This YAM poster will be distributed to every school in Illinois and lawmakers' offices in Springfield in March to help recognize the importance of art education in our schools.

This year's Youth Art Month Poster contest for the state of Illinois is themed "Wilderness".
I am only allowed to submit 6 entries for this contest. If one of our Dryden entries is selected it will be apart of a YAM poster that will be sent to EVERY school and Congress person in Illinois to help celebrate Youth Art Month in March 2012. Wish our talented artists luck!
