On Oct. 24th, my 4th graders in Mrs. Bernert's had the pleasure of participating in a Skype call with Prof. Juan Carlos Castro's pre-service art education students studying at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada about how we use technology in art class for instruction and art production. My students prepared a presentation, answered questions, and asked some in return. We had a wonderful time and learned so much. This week a care package arrived from our new friends in Canada. They very kindly assembled their comments in a lovely letter and put together memorabilia for us.

I was so touched to open the package and find notes for my administrators, Mrs. Bernert, the homeroom teacher of the class that Skyped with the Concordia University students, and enough keepsakes to share with everyone!
In this picture I'm dividing up the goodies into bags so that each student can have a handmade bookmark with real Canadian leaves, a fancy pen, and a paper pad. The other items were shared with everyone on the display board above.

I decided to print out a copy of the letter full of kind comments from the university students and add it to their goodie bags.
