Augmented Reality Business Card

My business card comes to life and talks to you with augmented reality.
Here is how it works:
1. Download EyeJack App
2. Scan the QR code for FX
3. Scan the art on my card

How to put it together

The front of my business card has a painting of my learning mascot called Matilda. She is the trigger image for the augmented reality. The overlay is the animation that appears when I scan her using the app (after I've loaded the effect with the QR code).

1. I put the trigger image in superimpose app

2. I erased everything but the glasses and saved as PNG

3. I erased the face only and saved as PNG

4. I made my video the bottom layer of a Green Screen project in Do Ink. The art (without face) as the middle layer, and the glasses as the top layer. Then I exported it as a movie

5. I cropped the movie using ezgif.com (crop video tab is found under the video to gif tab)

6. I used the EyeJack creator (desktop) to upload the trigger image

7. Upload the overlay video. I have it cropped to the same dimensions as the art to enhance the effect of it coming to life. I didn't add extra sound since my video has sound already

8. EyeJack uploads the effect and trigger then generates a QR code for you. Save this for printing on the back of your business card

9. I edited my QR code image a bit before I had it printed on the back of my business card to explain its purpose a little bit and cover the "create another" button from the screenshot. Then I uploaded both images to vistaprint to have my cards made (front and back). Here is my referral link if you want to use vistaprint.

10. Print preview from vistaprint. You can scan the QR code from the card and watch it come to life. (test is from the screen and it should work too).

They Arrived! (and look at what happens)

I don't understand how this works, but when I scanned over a bunch of the VistaPrint business cards, the conversation was continued from one card to the next through augmented reality. So magic! The code (with instructions) on the back is the key to making this work for anyone.

I loved meeting you at ISTE 2019- that was such a highlight. And I treasure this card you gave me- I think my version used HPReveal but you explained why you wanted to work with a new AR app. SO eyeJack it is? I have to check that out. I know you are off and running for the year- can't wait to see what you and your artists are up to next!

We so great meeting in real life! Yes, I'm super excited about eyejack app. It's free, no login needed, and the QR code gives anyone access to your effects. I think this is even more kid friendly than HP Reveal.
