If you have been following me on twitter, you would know that I'm currently in an augmented reality frenzy. I keep wanting to make everything around me and my students come to life with augmented reality. I now have a collection of children's book covers that come to life through animation and the EyeJack app. Explore them here.
Teacher Examples do the Teaching
I thought my teacher examples could share some information about the art concepts that they demonstrate directly to my students with augmented reality. Below, my apple still life example for the 1st grade project points out with apple is in the foreground and background through augmented reality. I placed the QR code from Eyejack app that generates the effect (made in the green screen app by Do Ink) on the back so any device running eyejack app and view the message.
My 4th graders are working on a monochromatic self-portrait, so I thought the teacher example could share some vocabulary (tints, shades, value) with them through augmented reality. Here is how that turned out.
ARt that Emphasizes Art Concepts
My third graders are doing a painting based on Edvard Munch's The Scream. I thought it would be a fun surprise for them if the painting came alive from our classroom poster or art textbook. I wanted to emphasize depth, the vanishing point, and expression in the animation to further instruct my students.
My 5th graders are learning about the optical illusions of MC Escher as they design tessellations. I made this piece, Hand with Reflecting Sphere, spin with Augmented reality using superimpose, keynote, ARMakr app, and eyejack. View it below.
