After that first sketch I accessed the results and concluded that the initial size of the horse body was the most important factor for success. So I prepped a stencil that would help them begin with a good size when we began the artwork. As you can see the stencil is lacking details. It's part of the initial sketch stage. |

Digital Extension:
When my students are finished with their carousel horse painting I will have them pose in front of green screen pretending they are riding their horse. I plan on having them combine a digital image of their art and their photo using the Superimpose app on the iPads. Then we will take this image and animate it using the DoInk Animation App. Below is my test animation. |
