Next week Creating Media for Learning by Sam Gliksman will be released for sale. It contains student centered projects across the curriculum including TWO from Dryden's Art Room.
Here is the companion website for the book where you can view the movies and resources that correspond with the projects. The book shares our student-created, art-related Fugleflick, Allow us to Illustrate. This movie was made on iPads by fifth graders as they beta tested the (at the time) soon to be released Green Screen App by DoInk. Since then, the movie has wonbest in show at a local film festival, shown at conferences around the globe, and won video of the year from NextVista.org. |

The other project that the book shares is our stop motion green screen animation project where 4th graders animated over their action figure paintings to show Movement over movement. This project also happens to be a finalist in the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Curious Classroom contest as well.
Another Dryden Art mention in a book this week
I was also able to contribute a small example of how using google hangouts can make professional development much more accessible. Here is a recording of my online PD for art teachers via Education Closet. I walk teachers through the steps of making art on their iPads using one free app, Sketchbook Express.
