"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."
This project is inspired by the book, I'm Here by Peter H. Reynolds. It has a simple message of empathy, kindness, and friendship for children that are different. The book touches on children with autism without labels. So I want to use it to explore the concept of friendship with my students as well without making it about us and them, but rather, inclusiveness. This book will also become a springboard for a creative exploration of animation, green screen, imagination, and paper airplanes.

UPDATE: The Packaged eBook Lesson! (all the resources in one place with easier steps including tutorial all using the Green Screen App!)
Download my animation example to practice the technique.
Download this green screen footage to practice the technique.
Download this paper airplane photo to practice the technique.
1. The Story (animated wordless version)
2. What is friendship (Brainpop jr video)
3. How to make a Paper Airplane
4. Photograph the airplane (over green)
5. Test your airplane (optional but fun)
Now, they can test out the planes just like the boy did in the @peterhreynolds book. I gave students 5 minutes to try to fly through all 6 hoops. If done with extra time, try two hoops in one flight. #drydenrocks #artsed #plannedchaos #pajamaday pic.twitter.com/gkYuNovLKl
