I love to use art images to help students visualize the concepts in our curriculum. I can use Edvard Munch's painting, The Scream, to demonstrate perspective and expressive use of color, Grant Wood's American Gothic, to get them thinking about rural USA during the great depression, and Pablo Picasso's painting, Old Guitarist, to help them talk about the last time they were feeling blue. Seeing the world through the eyes of artists & their work helps children empathize, connect, and learn.
