We just heard that two of our Fugleflick videos were chosen as finalists in the NextVista.org Super Thoughts student video contest. Both videos involve 4th graders who were learning about stop-motion animation.
The first video, Animating Ourselves, (collaboration category) was made during class time when students used their own bodies as objects to demonstrate different principles of stop-motion animation. The second video, Green Screen Stop Motion Stations, (teacher category) demonstrated how fourth graders used these stop motion ideas to create a collaborative animation using green screens, iPad apps, and their own art as the background. The above movies were pretty close to what our entries looked like for the contest. The contest links above will take you to the actual entries. Both these movies were based on the learning and creating that went into our collaborative stop motion animation movies.
